Starting couple therapy with Teresa has been one of the best decisions for us. Therapy helped me calm down, reflect on my own patterns, and recognize how both of us were struggling and growing together. It truly brought more clarity, understanding, and peace into our relationship.

I had tried several therapy sessions in the past without seeing any noticeable changes in my thought patterns. Then, I decided to give Ello Mind a try. My therapist, Teresa, is very friendly, and I was able to connect with her perspective right away. She has already helped me make a positive change during one of the lowest points in my life.

I’ve been attending therapy sessions with Hyma ma’am, and the experience has been incredibly positive. She creates a safe and comfortable environment, allowing me to open up and explore my thoughts at my own pace. Her approach is both professional and compassionate. I’m truly grateful for the progress I’ve made with her guidance.

About Shifana
Shifana holds an M.Phil in Clinical Psychology and specialises in OCD, trauma, and the stress that comes with living away from home. She gets what it is like to be a Malayali in a different city or country, missing home while trying to build a life somewhere else. That cultural understanding is a big part of how she works.
Therapeutic approach
For OCD, Shifana uses Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is the most well-supported treatment available. For trauma, she uses trauma-focused CBT. Her M.Phil training means she can handle complex cases without losing the human side of things.

Frequently asked questions
Shifana is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is the most well-supported OCD treatment according to international guidelines. Her M.Phil background means she can work with more complex cases, not just textbook ones.
Yes. Shifana specialises in migration stress and cultural adjustment. She understands the specific challenges Malayalis face when living away from home, whether in the Gulf, other Indian cities, or further abroad.
It is a form of CBT designed specifically for trauma. You work through the traumatic experience in a safe, structured way while also learning to manage symptoms that show up in daily life. It is time-limited and well-researched.
Not necessarily, but intrusive thoughts are a common feature of OCD. Shifana can help you understand what you are experiencing and whether OCD treatment would be appropriate for you.
Most people start seeing real improvement within 12 to 20 sessions of ERP, though it varies. Shifana will set goals with you early on and check in on how things are going as you go.
