Therapy that feels human, not clinical
We started ElloMind because we felt therapy should be something you can relate to, not report to. We connect you with licensed psychologists who speak your language, understand your culture, and treat you like a person.
Ello is our way of saying hello. ElloMind means “Hello, Mind”, addressing what is going on inside and taking care of it the right way.
Why ElloMind exists
Finding a therapist who understands you should not be the hardest part of getting help. But for many Malayalis, it is.
If you are in Kochi, you might have options, but finding someone you actually click with is still a gamble. If you are in Bengaluru or Chennai, good luck finding a therapist who speaks Malayalam. And if you are abroad, in Dubai, the US, or Canada, you are probably stuck choosing between expensive local options and therapists back home who do not do online sessions.
Most therapy platforms treat language as a search filter and culture as an afterthought. We built ElloMind the other way around. Language and culture are the starting point, because when you can express yourself without translating your emotions into English first, therapy works better.
We did not start ElloMind to build a mental health startup. We started it to fix a specific problem: making it possible for Malayalis, wherever they are, to talk to a qualified psychologist who speaks their language and gets their world.
Psychologist-led therapy
The therapy at ElloMind is psychologist-led. Our therapists shape the clinical approach, create the content, and are the face of everything we do. When you book a session, you are talking to a trained, licensed psychologist, not someone who picked up therapy as a side gig.
We are all for spreading awareness. We welcome anyone who helps people take that first step toward therapy. But the therapy itself, the clinical work, the sessions, the treatment, that is led by psychologists. That distinction matters to us.
What our therapists share comes from real clinical experience. The patterns they see in sessions, the things that actually help, the struggles people go through, all in Malayalam and English. Our credibility comes from the people doing the actual work.
We offer individual, couples, and teen therapy, online and in person. All sessions are with RCI-registered psychologists, in Malayalam or English. We also do corporate counseling for organizations that want to give their teams real access to mental health support, not just a token wellness webinar.
Who comes to us
Working professionals in their twenties and thirties, in Kochi, Bengaluru, or working remotely, dealing with anxiety, career pressure, or just trying to figure things out. People who have friends in therapy and have been meaning to try it themselves.
Malayalis living abroad, in the Gulf, the US, UK, Canada, or Australia, who want a therapist who understands the cultural weight of family expectations, the guilt of being far from home, and the unspoken rules they grew up with. Someone who does not need a 20 minute explanation of what a Malayali household feels like.
Couples going through a rough patch, struggling with communication, feeling disconnected, or preparing for a big step together. Married or in long-term relationships, looking for someone who can sit in the room with both of them and not take sides.
Companies, schools, and colleges that want to offer their people access to a trained psychologist, not a chatbot, not a self-help module, but an actual human being they can talk to.
They come because they want a therapist who feels like someone from their world. Not a stranger reading from a script.
Our therapists
Every therapist at ElloMind is a licensed psychologist registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), with postgraduate degrees in clinical or counselling psychology and supervised clinical training. All are fluent in both Malayalam and English. You can switch languages during the session, whatever feels right.
Meet our therapistsElloKochi
ElloKochi is our community in Kochi. It is an in-person gathering we host at Collective Coworks in Kakkanad. An evening of games, conversations, and activities, all centered around mental well-being.
No lectures. No awkward icebreakers. Just a warm space where friendships start and conversations about mental health happen without forcing them.
We host these regularly and they are open to anyone. Follow us on Instagram to know when the next one is happening.
How therapy is regulated in India
Clinical psychology is a regulated profession in India. The Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) registers and licenses clinical psychologists. You cannot legally practice as a clinical psychologist in India without RCI registration. All our therapists are RCI-registered.
The Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 is the law that governs how mental health care works across the country. It protects your rights as a client, mandates informed consent, and requires all mental health professionals and establishments to be registered. In Kerala, the Kerala State Mental Health Authority (KSMHA) oversees this at the state level.
At the national level, the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) regulates allied health professions, including psychologists. Our therapists also follow the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (IACP) Code of Conduct, which is the Indian equivalent of the APA ethics code used internationally.
What this means for you
Everything you share with your therapist is confidential. We do not share session details with family members, employers, or anyone else, unless there is an immediate risk of harm. Your therapist will explain the limits of confidentiality in your first session so you know exactly where you stand.
You give informed consent before therapy begins. Your therapist will only work within their area of training and competence. If your concern needs a different kind of specialist, they will tell you honestly and help you find the right person.
Our sessions are evidence-based, not opinion-based. We do not give advice or tell you what to do. We help you think through your own decisions in a space where no one is judging you.
