Cookie Policy
Effective Date: 28 May 2026 · Last Updated: 28 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how JOETER CONSULTING LLP (LLP ID: ACC-6688), which operates ElloMind (“ElloMind,” “we,” “us”), uses cookies and similar technologies on ellomind.com. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.
In plain terms: cookies help the site work, help us see what is useful, and (with your permission) help us measure our ads. If you are in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, nothing non-essential runs until you say yes. Elsewhere, you can switch things off any time.
1. What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. We also use closely related technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage (browser storage that works like cookies), pixels, and software development kits. In this policy we call all of these “cookies” for simplicity.
- First-party cookies are set by ElloMind.
- Third-party cookies are set by services we use, such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, Razorpay, and Cloudflare.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
Important: the website-analytics cookies below (for example Microsoft Clarity) relate to how you browse the public website. They are completely separate from any recording or transcription of an actual therapy session, which is governed by Section 3.5 of our Privacy Policy and your separate consent.
2. The Categories We Use
| Category | What it does | Can you switch it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Makes the site and booking flow work: remembering your consent choice, your booking progress, your theme, and keeping payments secure. | No. These do not need consent because the site cannot function without them. They never track you for advertising. |
| Analytics & performance | Helps us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it (page views, scroll depth, anonymised session replays of website browsing). | Yes. |
| Marketing & advertising | Measures whether our ads work and helps show relevant ads on Google, Facebook, and Instagram. | Yes. |
3. The Exact Cookies We Set
Durations are typical maximums; actual lifetimes can be shorter. Third-party providers may occasionally rename cookies or add others; we review this list regularly.
3.1 Strictly necessary
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
em_consent_v1 | ElloMind (localStorage) | Stores your cookie consent choices so we do not ask again. | Until you clear it |
em_visitor_id | ElloMind (localStorage) | A random ID that links the steps of your booking and visit. Not your name. | Until you clear it |
em_utm | ElloMind (sessionStorage) | Remembers which campaign or link brought you here, for attribution. | Until you close the tab |
theme | ElloMind (localStorage) | Remembers your light or dark mode choice. | Until you clear it |
em_booking_tracked | ElloMind (sessionStorage) | Stops a confirmed booking being counted twice if you refresh. | Until you close the tab |
| Razorpay payment cookies | Razorpay | Securely process your payment and prevent fraud during checkout. | Session / short-lived |
__cf_bm, related Cloudflare cookies | Cloudflare | Protects the site and booking API from bots and abuse. | Up to ~30 minutes / session |
3.2 Analytics & performance
In plain terms: these tell us what is working on the site. In the EU, UK, and Switzerland they only run after you accept.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Tells returning visits apart so we can count unique users. | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics 4 | Keeps your session state for our specific GA4 property. | Up to 2 years |
_clck | Microsoft Clarity | Stores a Clarity user ID and your settings for the site. | Up to 1 year |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Joins your page views into a single browsing session. | 1 day |
CLID | Microsoft Clarity (clarity.ms) | Identifies the browser the first time Clarity sees it. | Up to 1 year |
3.3 Marketing & advertising
In plain terms: these measure our ads. In the EU, UK, and Switzerland they only run after you accept.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta (Facebook) Pixel | Identifies your browser to measure and deliver ads on Facebook and Instagram. | Up to 3 months |
_fbc | Meta Pixel | Stores the last ad you clicked so a booking can be attributed to it. | Up to 3 months |
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Attributes a conversion (such as a booking) to a Google ad click. | Up to 90 days |
When you visit from an ad, the link may carry parameters such as gclid, fbclid, msclkid, or utm_*. We keep these in sessionStorage (cleared when you close the tab) only to measure which campaigns work. They are never linked to your therapy records.
4. How We Ask For Your Consent
We use Google Consent Mode v2 together with a consent banner. What you see depends on where you are:
- EU, UK, and Switzerland: analytics and marketing cookies are off by default. A banner asks you to Accept all, Reject all, or Manage each category. Nothing non-essential runs until you choose. Until then, Google receives only privacy-preserving, cookieless signals.
- India and everywhere else: consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and local norms, analytics and marketing are on by default, and you can switch them off at any time (see Section 5). We do not show the banner, to keep the experience simple.
- Strictly necessary cookies always run, in every region, because the site cannot work without them.
5. How To Change or Withdraw Consent
You are always in control. You can:
- Use the banner: if you are in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, choose Manage to turn individual categories on or off, then save.
- Email us: write to [email protected] and we will action your choice and, where it applies, delete data already collected.
- Use your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear localStorage. Doing so may reset preferences like your theme.
- Opt out at the source:
- Google Analytics: opt-out add-on
- Meta: ad preferences
- Microsoft Clarity: opt-out
6. Third-Party Cookies and Their Policies
Some cookies are set by services we rely on. Their use of data is governed by their own policies:
- Google (Analytics, Ads): policies.google.com/privacy
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram): facebook.com/privacy/policy
- Microsoft (Clarity): privacy.microsoft.com
- Razorpay: razorpay.com/privacy
- Cloudflare: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
7. Your Choices By Region
7.1 India (DPDP Act, 2023 and IT Act/SPDI Rules)
We process cookie data on the basis of notice and consent and, for necessary cookies, our legitimate need to provide the service you asked for. You can withdraw consent at any time (Section 5). For data rights and our Grievance Officer, see the Privacy Policy.
7.2 EU, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy)
Non-essential cookies are set only with your prior, freely given consent, collected through the banner. You may withdraw consent as easily as you gave it. We rely on consent for analytics and marketing cookies, and on our legitimate interest / necessity for strictly necessary cookies.
7.3 United States (CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws)
Some sharing of identifiers with advertising partners may count as a “sale” or “sharing” under California law. You can opt out by rejecting marketing cookies (Section 5) or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal (Section 8). We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers can send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) signal. Where required by law (for example under CCPA/CPRA), we treat a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of marketing cookies. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, we cannot guarantee a response to every DNT signal, but you can always use the controls in Section 5.
9. Changes To This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our services, partners, or the law change. We will revise the “Last Updated” date above, and for material changes affecting consent we will ask again where required.
